Why Paint the Engraved Parts of a Glass?


In a word, painting the engraved parts of a glass can cause those portions to "pop" (i.e., stand out) more making them easier to see. Things, such as lighting and what is in the glass, play a key role in how easy it is to see the engraving. For example, in the image to the right note how the painted engraving of the glass on the right is easier to see than the engraving of the glass on the left.
